Small Kitchen with Natural Ash Worktop

Our brief with this project was to turn this small space into an efficient and fully functional kitchen. We started by moving the radiator from the wall and placing it under the window. This freed up sufficient wall space for an integrated fridge/freezer and a bookcase display area.

The customer wanted a more traditional look and feel to their kitchen, so we went with shaker style doors. They are Ivory with wood grain effect and the cabinet carcasses are made with Natural Hamilton Oak.

They wanted their kitchen to have a wooden worktop, so we opted for Natural Ash. Ash makes a great alternative to oak worktops and offers a great deal of character. It is naturally light in colour, so it bounces light into the room, giving a bright and welcoming ambiance.

Belfast Sink

The wooden worktop works really well with the Belfast sink, complementing the traditional style of the kitchen. As do the pewter finish knobs and cup pulls that complement the brushed finish stainless steel tap. Above the sink, we designed an open space to allow for easy access storage.

Adding a touch of contrast to the kitchen is the Metro tiled splashback in dark green. This is lit up by the under-cabinet downlights which provide convenient illumination when chopping vegetables or preparing food.

Aside from the fridge/freezer, we managed to find space for a Bosch integrated dishwasher and a built-in microwave. Above the single oven and induction hob is a NEFF extractor.
