Our customers got in touch with us and asked us to design them a new traditional style kitchen. The project, however, presented an added complication of a step dividing the room, causing a split level. The customer also had their own Aga range cooker which really helped to set the tone of the room. So, our task was to seamlessly integrate it into the design, creating a room where it would feel at home.
To compliment the traditional style set by the Aga, the customer opted for plain shaker doors in Reed Green wood-effect. And to add the finishing touch we added classic cast iron knobs. The cabinet carcasses were made from Natural Carini Walnut, which has a smooth low-gloss wooden finish.
To give a refined look, we opted for a hygienic, durable and low-maintenance quartz worktop. The Bianco Toscana with a polished finished by Königstone is engineered stone, made from over 90% quartz. It has the added benefit of being highly stain and scratch resistant. There are two sinks in this kitchen (one on each level) which are made from Silgranit in soft white. Silgranit is a composite material, made from natural granite and acrylic resin to form a non-porous surface.
Creating a Cozy Room
To create a cozy warmth to the room and to help with food preparation, we added under-cabinet LED strip lighting. Not only do they prevent you from working in your own shadow, but they are very energy efficient.
Storage space is always a factor when designing a new kitchen and this one is no exception. To ensure that we made maximum use of the space, we built in a floor-to-ceiling pull out larder. We also installed two pull-out corner units and an integrated pull-out waste bin.
The kitchen also benefits from an integrated NEFF dishwasher and a NEFF integrated fridge freezer with ‘No Frost’ bottom freezer. There is also an integrated washing machine and tumble dryer.
