Open Shelving in a Home Study

Last year we installed a high-end kitchen for this customer. So, we were thrilled when they returned this year with a request to design and install a bespoke home study. Like many of our clients, they needed a practical and comfortable space when working from home.

The colours of the furniture were selected to complement the existing tiled flooring. Similarly, the style of the cabinetry had to be cohesive with the overall design scheme of the house. The client chose a solid oak worktop to compliment the teal blue cabinetry. We shaped this into a sweeping curve to create sufficient space for a keyboard and two computer screens.

The open shelving was designed to house files, books and to display trophies. Whilst at the far end, we installed under-cabinet LED strip lighting to illuminate the main working area.

The study needed to house the main internet router and is also where the main telephone line enters the house. As this usually involves lots of unsightly cables and boxes, we created a base cabinet to hide them all away.

Besides installing the furniture, our team of skilled tradesmen updated the electrical provisions and carried out the plastering and decorating.
