This home bar/ kitchen was designed for our customers who were extending their home. The idea behind the new space was to create a cosy and contemporary media room. It needed to feel relaxed, warm and intimate. In short, the brief was to create a kitchen that doesn’t look like a kitchen.
The carefully selected colours and textures were key to creating a room which looks both refined and well considered. We chose to use made-to-measure plain doors as this invited a whole plethora of design possibilities. The tall and base cabinet doors in dark bronze have a textured matt finish with a velvety feel. They are complemented by the wall cabinets which are finished off with high-gloss gold metallic doors.
The panelling on the peninsula consists of woodgrain panels in a dark oak finish. The wall cabinets are handless. However, the rest of the cabinetry is fitted with beautiful blackened bronze handles to help with the private bar ambience.
Ceramic Worktop
The cherry on the cake is the dark KonigCeramic Montpellier worktop with bronze veins running through the matt black surface. The granite sink in Mocha and the blackened bronze tap complement the warm colour scheme running through the kitchen.
To carry on the feeling of a home bar, a bronze mirror was fitted between the wall and base cabinets. The stepped-up platform at the bar continues this theme. Plus, it has the added benefit of hiding any clutter and helping to preserve the perception of calm. We also installed a modular black metal frame shelving unit, made from the same dark oak panelling as the peninsula.
Our team worked with the customers’ building contractor to help with the preparation of the room. Together, we created the right schedule of the works in order to bring the vision to life.
