When our customers downsized into their new home, the kitchen they inherited was disproportionately smaller than the rest of the house. They were lacking storage and worktop space and couldn’t get their heads around the awkward V shape of the room.
Our challenge was to design and fit a modern kitchen in the same, small, peculiarly shaped room. But somehow, we needed to find space for more storage and to create a bit more worktop space. We also had to accommodate an integrated washing machine, dishwasher, tall larder fridge, a single oven and a combination oven. They opted for a modern and efficient induction hob with an integrated canopy extractor above. The hob is nested into the Quartz worktop, which is Himalayan Valley with a polished finish by Königstone.
To complete the timeless and unique look of this kitchen, the customers opted for a Belfast double bowl sink. Not only does it look great, but it has a large capacity, and being ceramic, it is easy to clean.
Made-to-Measure Kitchen Cabinets
It quickly became obvious that to maximise the potential of the space, we had to use custom-sized cabinets and made-to-measure doors. Standard measurements just wouldn’t work. In doing so, we have even managed to accommodate a corner “Le Mans” pull out mechanism and some open shelving.
Our customers opted for gloss handleless slab doors in Cashmere. And to continue the modern, reflective theme we also added a hygienic, easy to clean glass splashback. These were great choices for this small space, as they reflect light around the room, making it appear larger. The combination of colours and textures of this design achieves a timeless look within a modern kitchen.
