Traditional Kitchen with Breakfast Bar

Kitchen with timber doors in painted taupe, kitchen island, wine cooler, stools and built in oven.

The painted timber shaker doors in this newly designed and fitted kitchen offer a timeless and versatile aesthetic. It is a popular door style that fits in well with both modern and traditional styles of kitchen. To compliment the oak floors and the bright, traditional appeal of this room, these doors are painted in light taupe. The wooden drawer boxes, Calcatta Gold quartz worktop and antique bronze handle complete the classic homely look and feel.

The kitchen island really helps to tie the room together in this open-plan space. Its very presence helps to create a natural flow, making it easier to separate different areas of the kitchen. Kitchen islands are always great because they significantly increase the amount of worksurface allowing you more room for food preparation. They are also great for quick-access storage and can be a great place to keep large items such as cookware.

One of the best things about this island is its built-in breakfast bar with seating for four people. Apart from being a great place for a quick meal, it instantly turns the kitchen into a much more sociable space. It encourages friends and family to sit and interact with you over a cup of tea or glass of wine whilst you prepare food. And to ensure there is always chilled drinks available, this island has a wine cooler built into it.

Modern Appliances

This kitchen may have a traditional look to it, but it has all the appliances required for modern living. It has a NEFF venting induction hob which is more energy efficient and safer to run than traditional hobs. They offer precise, fast temperature control and are easy to clean. Aside from the wine cooler, this kitchen also has a built-in double oven, combi-microwave, integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

This kitchen also features a Quooker Fusion square tap in patinated brass fitted to the white ceramic sink. Quooker taps are a fantastic space-saving innovation for any kitchen. They provide instant boiling water so there is no need for a kettle. And unlike kettles, they are vacuum-insulated and only heat the water you need, making them incredibly water and energy efficient.

The worktop is made from 20mm thick quartz in Calacatta Gold. It is a low-maintenance, stain and scratch resistant surface that is both hard wearing and hygienic. Because it is an engineered material it is highly durable and can withstand a moderate heat. Its non-porous nature makes it easy to clean and prevents the growth of bacteria and mould.

The kitchen also has some great storage innovations. Apart from the additional storage in the kitchen island, it benefits from a tall space tower. This is a large, easy-access larder cabinet that maximises the use of vertical space. But their real benefit comes from their pull-out nature. It means items are easily accessed from all sides, including those stored at the back or at the top.
